Excelsa is a truly rare coffee. It only thrives in places with just the right mix of warmth, humidity, and well-drained soil. That’s why you’ll find it growing in only a few pockets of the world, like the quiet, misty hills of Cukil village in Semarang.
Its cherries ripen slowly and unevenly, so farmers return to the trees again and again, picking only what’s ready. It takes patience, care, and a lot more work than Arabica or Robusta, which is why the harvest is always small.
