ORIGIN | FARMER | PRODUCER: Solok Radjo Cooperative
Located in Nagari Aie Dingin, Solok Radjo Cooperative served as an economic and business development forum for farmers, especially in the field of Arabica coffee production. Their quality increased when the coffee region obtained the predicate of Specialty Coffee Grade with a score value above 80.
Solok Radjo was formed in 2012 with just a group of local farmers consisting of siblings that lived at Gunung Talang. They were also called a group of Fathers' Farmers led by a 69 year-old man (a Dad) whose real name is Syahrur Pakieh. At the beginning, Gunung Talang (The Mountain Talang) area was just a small coffee region able to produce only 5-10 kg of coffee, until they met Mr. Radjo. He was a coffee farmer that sensed a concern from local coffee farmers who were clueless on how to sell their coffee harvest, hence Radjo turned his vision into reality by making the entire region's coffee production be graded as Specialty Coffee.
